General

The word halcyon means "reign of peace." My clients often come to me after they've tried to setup a website on their own with no luck. They're frustrated and need help. I want to support my clients as they return to a calmer and more peaceful outlook on running their business. I want them to think about peaceful and prosperous times while I handle the hard stuff.
Think Halcyon specializes in custom-developed websites and self-hosting. However, we have worked on a myriad of different websites using services like WordPress, Ghost, Shopify, and Squarespace.
Our primary tech stack is the MERN stack (MySQL, Express, React, Node). However, we also utilize other technologies, languages, and SQL dialects/databases to develop our websites, such as PostgreSQL, SQLite, Django, Python, JavaScript, SCSS, Bootstrap, Material-UI, and much more.
Great question! Building a website requires a lot of content, like all of your copyedited text, external links, images (photos and graphics), audio/visual files, and more. If you want to know more about what you need before you make a website, download our free Website Checklist PDF to help you plan your next project.
Not everyone has the time or money to hire a professional photographer to take photos of them or their businesses. If that's the case, we can use high-quality, free stock images from websites like Unsplash or Pexels until you can get photos of your own. Please note: It is always better to use your own photos.
Of course! That’s not a problem. Think Halcyon often maintains websites for our clients, regardless of whether or not we developed or designed the site. As long as you give us admin access to your site, we can manage it for you. For more details, check out our Website Maintenance and Hosting service page.

Billing

We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe or QuickBooks. However, we do not accept checks or money orders at this time.
You will receive an invoice or receipt from Think Halcyon after a successful payment via Stripe or QuickBooks. All receipts and invoices are itemized.
No. Each website, each project, is unique. As such, Think Halcyon provides quotes for all of our projects after we have had an initial consultation about the proposed work. Our branding service operates the same way. On the other hand, website maintenance and hosting do have standard rates based on a tiered system.
If, for any reason, you need to cancel a project that has already begun, we require a 7-day written notice for website development or branding. Cancelling a subscription service, such as website maintenance or hosting, is immediate. However, when you cancel your plan, the last fee is prorated. Please note: you will still have access to those cancelled services until your plan runs out.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds for work completed or hours spent working on your projects. Thank you for understanding.
